This buck was not the one that I had my sights on at the beginning of the 2006 bow season. Either I was completely out classed as I could never locate him, or another deserving slinger knew his habits better than I & bagged him. I was almost at the brink of panic, knowing that the boomstickers were flooding the woods. I couldn’t help but think about the handful of shooters I passed up just to get that certain one. This made me wonder if my stubborn dedication had done me in. I am so happy I was wrong! This buck was worth the long wait. He did a ‘fly-bye’ early in the morning at 35 to 40 yards away and my heart and jaw dropped. Still in disbelief a half hour later, his girlfriend brought him back around the point for an unbelievable second chance. My first thought was “Ata Girl” !! Thanks to her, here’s our ‘Kodak moment’.
